Making a safety plan

A safety plan is a written list of coping strategies and support people to help you get through hard moments. You can build one with a trusted friend, family member, or clinician.

The Stanley-Brown Safety Plan template is a widely used resource. Ask your provider for a copy, or call 988 and a counselor can help you begin one right now.

If this page isn't the help you need, please still reach out — call 988, text HOME to 741741, or call 911. There are people who want to help.
